ABC
of hints and tips for getting the most from your voicebox.
If you cannot be heard clearly or your sound is muffled...
a) Try adjusting the position
of the VoiceBox sensor. b) Make sure the sensor
is flat against your neck and that it is not a loose fit.
The neck ring is made of sprung steel and is bendable,
so as to fit your neck size. The VoiceBox is not suitable
for people with beards.
c) Check that usage limits
i.e. range and landscape conform to the radio manufacturer's
specifications. Check that you have good battery life.
*Important: The better the
radio, the better the signal strength, the better the
sound.
If you
cannot hear very well...
a) Check the volume level on your radio.
b) If the sender is wearing a VoiceBox make sure
he complies with previous points a,b and c.
c) Check that usage limits i.e. range and landscape
conform to the radio manufacturer's specifications. Check
that you have good battery life.
If VOX (Voice Operated Transmission) does not work...
a) Check the radio instructions
to make sure it has a VOX option. b) Check the radio to make
sure you have enabled VOX sensitivity correctly. c) Try plugging in the VoiceBox
before switching on the radio. *Remember the first word spoken
will not be heard until the radio comes out of standby
mode. This is normal for preserving battery life on the
radio. Also if you stop speaking for a second or so the
radio will go back into standby, this is a function of
the radio and not the VoiceBox.
* To overcome this try saying hello ( twice ) and then
continue your discussion.
No transmission
at all...
a) Check both radios are switched on and check
you have good battery life.
b) Make sure you are in range of the other Radio(s).
c) Make sure your VoiceBox is plugged in correctly
and that it is the correct pin for the Radio see Compatible
list.
